I had the pleasure of photographing a baby boy named Maddox for his newborn session in my studio. He was born on January 8th and weighed 9 pounds 12 ounces at birth so when he came to see me at 13 days old he was even chunkier! His parents, Jasmine and Andrew, planned to decorate his nursery with a Winnie the Pooh theme so we decided to use golden yellow and green tones for the session to match the theme. I think these tones worked absolutely perfect together!

Little Maddox was quite alert and curious, making it difficult to get him to fall asleep at first. He was fascinated by what I was doing, and he wanted to watch my every move. However, once he finally drifted off to sleep, we were able to capture some super sweet sleepy shots. We used different props and poses to create a variety of images for the family to cherish. One of the special requests was to incorporate a blue line flag as his dad is a police officer. I laid the flag down and laid the baby down on top of the flag while he was sound asleep, resulting in a beautiful and meaningful image.

With his initial alertness, we were able to capture some adorable awake “mug shots.” He made the cutest facial expressions that showed off his personality even at such a young age. He even decided to give me the finger in one image! LOL.. In the end, we captured some beautiful images that will be treasured by the family for years to come. It was an honor to work with this wonderful family and to capture the essence of Maddox’s personality in my studio.
